After two-year hiatus DP World’s Indian transhipment ambitions begin

Dubai: DP World's operations in the Indian state of Kerala are finally set to surge with the call yesterday of its first transhipment service at its International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT) in Kochi. It follows a tough two-year struggle to get New Delhi to allow foreign ships to be able to transport containers between its ICTT, also known as the Vallarpadam terminal, and other parts of India. ICTT is now poised to compete with Sri Lanka, which to date has served as India’s de facto transhipment destination.  [27/03/13]
