Ageing aframax commands high price from Marshal

A flow of elderly tonnage has gone to the Middle East this year and this week is no different. This week’s sales registers show that Marshal Shipping is the taker of the 99,000 dwt Hildegaard (built 1999), a ship that has been open for sale at the right price for years. The vessel has already been renamed Heidi, indicating it is already delivered.

Brokers note that the five-fleet strong Marshal has been willing to pay $ 8.7m, for the vintage tanker, a very firm price with VesselsValue setting the price significantly less at $7.45m.

Marshal Shipping is listed with three containerships and one aframax and one medium range tanker – all vintage tonnage.

The seller of the ship is Lundqvist Rederierna, a Finnish aframax tanker specialist, listed with eleven similar sized tankers on the water.
