Akastor appoints Kristian Røkke as its CEO

Oslo: Norwegian oilfield service firm Akastor has appointed Aker Philadelphia Shipyard chairman, Kristian Røkke, as its new CEO effective August 10.

Røkke will replace Frank O. Reite, who moves to parent company Aker to take up the role of CFO.

Øyvind Eriksen, chairman of Akastor and CEO of Aker, commented: “I am very pleased that Kristian has accepted the position at the helm of Akastor. Kristian has been instrumental in the successful turnaround process at Aker Philadelphia Shipyard, as both Chairman and CEO.”

Røkke will take up an annual salary of NOK 3.5m ($430k) plus a share scheme and manager incentive scheme, while also remaining in his position of chairman at Aker Philadelphia Shipyard.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
