Aker Solutions wins engineering contract in UK North Sea

Aker Solutions has won a five-year framework agreement from an unnamed operator to provide engineering and construction services for “several” offshore oil and gas fields in the UK North Sea.

The contract will be undertaken by Aker Solutions’ maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) business in the UK and includes a five-year extension option. The value of the agreement was not disclosed.

“Winning this contract in such a competitive market proves Aker Solutions’ ability to find effective ways to support our customers at a challenging time for the industry,” David Clark, Aker Solutions’ regional president for Europe and Africa, said in a statement today.

On Tuesday, Aker Solutions’ Norwegian MMO business secured two contracts for work at North Sea fields operated by ConocoPhillips. The contract is valued between NOK1bn ($115m) and NOK3bn ($345m), depending on what maintenance and modification work is undertaken.
