Alam Maritim awarded Petronas umbrella contract

Kuala Lumpur: Alam Maritim has received a letter of award from Petronas for the provision of spot charter marine vessels, joining the likes of Icon Offshore and Petra Energy who were also awarded umbrella contracts.

The contract is for a period of two years with a one year option, and Alam Maritim was awarded seven of eight vessel types required by Petronas. The company will provide anchor handling tug supply vessels, straight supply vessels, platform supply vessels, utility vessels, fast crew boats, workboats and work barges.

The contract is effective from 29 January 2015, and enables Alam Maritim to provide vessels, crew and associated equipment for continuous 24-hour operations.

Alam Maritim operates a fleet of 42 offshore support vessels.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
