Anadarko terminates Dolphin Drilling drillship

Fred. Olsen Energy subsidiary Dolphin Drilling has been served with a termination for convenience notice from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation for 2013-built drillship Bolette Dolphin.

Termination of the contract will be effective at the end of August 2017 and Dolphin Drilling is set to pick up a termination fee of around $96m according to the contract.

The Hyundai Heavy Industries-built drillship has been used in Anadarko’s Colombia campaign this year and is currently operating off West Africa on an exploration and appraisal program offshore Côte d’Ivoire.
