Angelicoussis back at DSME for another LNG carrier

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has bagged another order from one of its most loyal customers.

John Angelicoussis’s Maran Gas Maritime has ordered an LNG carrier at the Korean yard for delivery in the first half of 2021. No price has been revealed although the going rate for this ship type is now in the region of $180m.

Angelicoussis has now ordered 101 ships at DSME since 1994, making him among the yard’s most important clients, along with the likes of the BW Group.

DSME has racked up a large swathe of LNG orders in recent weeks as the sector has become one of the best earners this year.
