Angelicoussis back at DSME for pair of VLCCs

Angelicoussis Shipping Group has returned to its favourite Korean yard for more VLCCs. The Greek owner has opted for two 319,000 dwt Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) ships, which will deliver in 2017.

Angelicoussis ordered four VLCCs and two suezmaxes at the same yard earlier this year.

Since 1994, Angelicoussis has ordered a total of 84 ships at DSME. Its current order backlog now numbers 25 ships.

Cheap, relatively early delivery ships from Korean yards are now possible given the huge exodus of offshore contracts in the past 12 months.
