Another Hapag-Lloyd prang caught on video

Hapag-Lloyd is investigating another embarrassing boxship prang caught on social media. The one-year-old, 10,500 teu Santos Express collided with three ferries while proceeding to DP World’s Santos Terminal in Brazil on Sunday night. The 333 m long ship is understood to have triggered extensive damage to one ferry in particular as it veered off the fairway and came very close to the ferry terminal piers at the Brazilian port.

The incident was captured on a smartphone just like the dramatic images from March when the 8,000 teu Hapag-Lloyd boxship Tolten scraped the side of 6,350 teu Hamburg Bay at South Asia Pakistan Terminal (SAPT) in Karachi.
