Another Seaspan boxship delivered to begin timecharter to Yang Ming

Athens: Seaspan has received its fourth 14,000-teu container ship to be delivered this year, which will commence a ten-year fixed-rate timecharter to Yang Ming. No rate was disclosed for the fixture.

The Taiwan-based container carrier has the option to extend its contract on the YM Witness (14,000 teu, built 2015) by an additional two years. The ship has been built in South Korea by Hyundai Heavy Industries.

At the start of June, the YM Winner (14,000 teu, built 2015) was delivered to Seaspan and will also commence a 10-year charter to Yang Ming.

Yang Ming is chartering in 15 14,000-teu vessels, and is said to be looking to add a further five.
