Aqaba truckers strike risks energy shortages in Jordan
Dubai: Truck owners working in transferring imported crude oil from Aqaba to the Jordanian Petroleum Refinery in Zarqa continued their strike for a seventh day today, demanding a more equal distribution of loads and higher fees.
The oil refinery is now using up its strategic stockpile as no supplies have been able to get there for a week.
Observers warn there is a risk of power outages in the kingdom and petrol stations might run short of fuel if the strike continues much longer. [27/03/13]
