Archer awarded Talisman Sinopec contract

Oslo-listed oilfield service provider Archer has been awarded a new contract for the provision of platform drilling services for Talisman Sinopec Energy UK.

The contract commences in November and is for a three year period with two further two-year options. Archer will provide onshore rig operations, maintenance and QHSE management, and offshore operations and maintenance supervision on the Claymore, Clyde, Fulmar, Piper B, Saltire and Tartan platforms.

Kenny Dey, managing director of Archer UK, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this substantial contract from an operator like Talisman Sinopec, which has such a major presence in the UK North Sea.”

Archer will operate a total of 38 platforms including this new contract, based in the North Sea, Greece and Brazil.

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
