Arkas orders boxship quartet at Huangpu Wenchong

Turkish owner Arkas Group has entered into shipbuilding contracts with CSSC-affiliated Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard for the construction of four 3,100 teu container ships, according to Alphaliner.

Delivery of the ships are scheduled in 2020 and 2021.

Arkas has previously ordered four 3,100 teu vessels at Zhejiang Ouhua in January 2017, however the order was cancelled this year due to the bankruptcy of Ouhua.

Arkas currently operates a fleet of 52 containerships with a total capacity of around 95,400 teu.
