Arrest warrant sought for former Hanjin Shipping chairman

Prosecutors on Sunday sought the arrest warrant of the ex-chairman of Hanjin Shipping, who has been hit with insider trading charges.

Choi Eun-young stepped down as chairman of the financially struggling Korean line last year, but in the two weeks leading up to the company announcing it would restructure in April this year, she and her two daughters offloaded all their shares in the firm.

Choi has been interviewed on at least two occasions by prosecutors who have also interrogated senior officials at the shipping line suspected of leaking information to their former boss.

Hanjin is in the midst of a tricky restructuring.
