Manila: Asian Terminals Inc (ATI) is adding five more rubber-tired gantry cranes to expand capacity at Manila South Harbor. It is also adding another six side-loaders.
ATI is also launching its Vehicle Booking System (VBS), an automated system giving trucks 24-hour access to the port.
ATI’s 2014 throughput grew 8.6% to 1.02m teu, with very strong growth seen at its Batangas terminal which posted 98,000 teu, an increase of 762% year-on-year, largely down to the severe congestion seen in Manila 75 km to the north. [26/01/15]
