Australian takes the helm at INTERMEPA

RightShip’s Warwick Norman has become the first non-European to chair the International Marine Environment Protection Association (INTERMEPA). Norman takes over from G. Tsavliris and Sadan Kaptanoglu has been nominated vice chairman at a meeting held in Athens.

“Our industry faces unprecedented challenges, with calls for increasing monitoring and transparency around environmental measures coinciding with weak demand and excess capacity. INTERMEPA will continue to be a pivotal apolitical link between maritime authorities and our member associations whose aim is to protect the marine environment from pollution,” Norman said on taking on the new post.
