Dalian: AVIC Dingheng is in the mix for a lucrative newbuild for energy major Shell. The Chinese yard has been shortlisted along with Korea’s Samsung and STX to build a 6,500 ton LNG bunkering vessel. The order is likely to come with options for two more identical vessels.
Last year AVIC Dingheng won an order to build a 6,200 cu m LNG bunkering tanker from Jahre Marine marking its entry into this niche sector. [06/10/14]
