Awilco Drilling confirms semi-submersible order at Keppel

Awilco Drilling has announced that it has officially signed a contract with KeppelFELS shipyard in Singapore for the construction of a semi-submersible drilling rig.

The company has also negotiated options to build up to three additional rigs of similar design.

Awilco Drilling signed a letter of intent with Keppel for the rig at the end of February. Total value of the contract is $425m and delivery is planned for late first quarter of 2021.

Awilco Drilling currently owns and operates two semi-submersibles, WilPhoenix and WilHunter.
