Axis Bulk Carriers finds short-term charter for newly acquired kamsarmax

Greek owner Axis Bulk Carriers has moved to find short period cover on its newly acquired 2012-built kamsarmax bulker.

Axis picked up the 79,500 dwt Sea Trellis from John Fredriksen’s Seatankers for around $15.5m, taking delivery this month and renaming it Captain V. Madias.

Brokers tell Splash that the vessel has been immediately fixed to Greek operators Aquavita for five to seven months at $12,600 per day.

The vessel is currently positioned off South Korea ready to commence the charter.
