Aza gets first VLCC

Brokers report that up and coming private Indian tanker player Aza Shipping has taken its first VLCC. The company, founded in January last year, is linked with the AET Tankers-controlled Bunga Kasturi Dua. The Japanese-built, 12-year-old ship is costing Aza $31m.

In 2016, Aza bought two suezmaxes from Greece’s Kyklades Maritime. While these two ships are now listed on Aza’s website, the VLCC has yet to be mentioned.
