Bahri completes initial dry bulk build-up

Doha: Bahri, also known as the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia, has completed its initial foray into building up a dry bulk fleet.

Best known for its tanker operations, Bahri ordered five bulkers two years ago, the fifth of which, the 82,000 dwt Bahri Trader, was delivered from Japan’s Oshima Shipbuilding yesterday.

Bahri Dry Bulk is a joint venture between Bahri (60%) and ARASCO (40%), the largest grain importer in Saudi Arabia.

Further dry bulk orders are deemed likely, according to sources within the company.  [01/04/14]
