Barbican sets up new marine insurance division

Barbican Protect, the UK insurance arm of Barbican Insurance Group, has announced it has set up a new marine insurance division with the appointment of Sarah Joiner as a marine underwriter.

The marine division will deliver a wide range of insurance solutions to the UK SME market, spanning annual marine cargo including stock throughput, hauliers and freight forwarders liability, as well as freight forwarders online cargo.

“We see strong potential for growth in the UK marine insurance sector and firmly believe that our ability to deliver clearly defined, competitively priced, customer-focused insurance solutions will help us unlock that potential. I am delighted that Sarah has joined the team as marine underwriter. She is a highly respected figure in the marine sector and I am confident that she will be able to spear-head our push into this market,” said Stuart Kilpatrick, managing director of Barbican Protect.
