Basra – Aqaba pipeline discussions held

Cairo: Work to construct a $18bn oil pipeline from Iraq's Basra to Jordan's Aqaba port is set to kick off soon, with international construction firms being interviewed for the job.

The 1,700 km long pipeline is projected to export 2.25m barrels of oil per day through Jordan, generating up to $3bn in revenues for the kingdom.

A Basra investment forum will take place in Amman later this week, where the pipeline will be uner the spotlight.  [23/02/14]
