Beibu Gulf Shipping charters five newcastlemax newbuilds from CDB Leasing

Hong Kong-based Beibu Gulf Shipping, the shipping unit of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port Group, has entered into a long term chartering contract with CDB Leasing, the financial leasing unit of China Development Bank, for five 208,000 dwt newcastlemax bulker newbuildings.

The vessels are currently under construction at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, with deliveries scheduled in 2020 and 2021.

Beibu Gulf Shipping controls a fleet of over 70 bulkers, four of which are self-owned.

According to Beibu Gulf Port Group, Beibu Gulf Shipping completed a cargo transport volume of 13.5m tons in 2017, up substantially from 6.5m tons it completed in 2016.
