Benakat snaps up local coal firm
Jakarta: Energy firm Benakat Petroleum Energy has completed its $600m acquisition of Astrindo Mahakarya Indonesia (AMI), a coal infrastructure company.
AMI currently has integrated coal mining infrastructure assets including coal port capacity of 48m tons per year and overland conveyor belts with a capacity of 75.3m tons per year. AMI’s two coal mining units, Mitratama Perkasa and Nusa Tambang Pratama, produce a combined 70m tons of coal per year, a figure likely to rise to 80m tons in the coming years. [27/06/13]
