BG sells LNG interests to CNOOC

Beijing: British energy company BG Group announced Monday that the company has completed the deal to sell interests in the Queensland Curtis LNG project in Australia for $1.93bn to Chinese offshore oil and gas giant CNOOC.

Under a separate agreement, BG Group will also supply an addition 5 million tonnes per annum of LNG to CNOOC.

Chris Finlayson, BG Group’s Chief Executive said: “While today marks the completion of the agreements with CNOOC, our relationship with CNOOC has grown as they increase their investment in our QCLNG project and BG Group becomes the largest supplier of LNG to the world's fastest growing energy market.“ [12/11/13]
