Bibby Offshore secures Myanmar ROV contract

Singapore: Subsea specialist Bibby Offshore has announced that its Asia division, Bibby Offshore Singapore, has secured a contract with the Moattama Gas Transportation Company (MGTC) to provide ROV pipeline inspection, remedial work and associated project management on its Southeast Asia asset offshore Myanmar.

Bibby Offshore will provide its DP2 ROV support vessel Bibby Spring for the work, which is expected to take abour 60 days.

MGTC is a joint venture between Total, Unocal, PTT-EP and Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise.

“Bibby Offshore has a longstanding relationship with Total, the majority stakeholder in the MGTC partnership, with a track record spanning more than a decade of successfully delivering a high standard of service on the company’s North Sea asserts,” said Peter Hughes, managing director of Bibby Offshore Singapore.
