Bibby Offshore wins North Sea contract

Bibby Offshore is to begin a new “multimillion-pound” contract in the North Sea later this year, in which it will perform subsea engineering work 150km off the coast of Lincolnshire in the east of England.

Neither the client nor the contract’s specific value were disclosed, but Bibby said this is the second construction project it will undertake for the unnamed client.

Bibby Offshore’s construction support vessel Olympic Ares (pictured) and its diving support vessel Bibby Polaris will be deployed in the project, which is scheduled to commence between the third and fourth.

The scope of work includes precommissioning and commissioning support, and construction services comprising valve operations, spool installation, umbilical pull in and lay, trenching and stabilisation through the installation of concrete mattresses.

“This is a significant win for Bibby Offshore – not only is it a strong representation of our technical engineering capabilities, but it further underlines our commitment to the North Sea market,” Howard Woodcock, chief executive at Bibby Offshore, said today in a release.
