Bihar in Chinese tanker swoop

Allied Shipbroking is reporting that Bihar International from Saudi Arabia has ordered up to eight tankers at New Times Shipbuilding in China.

The deal is for two firm plus two option aframaxes as well as two firm plus two option two 55,000 dwt MR chemical tankers all for delivery in 2018.

Allied puts the aframaxes down as $41m each while the chemical tankers are priced at $35m each. The chemical tankers come with 18 tanks each.
