Bilingual GulfShip News launches

Dubai: Today sees the launch of a new media product to better serve one of shipping’s most vibrant regions.

GulfShip News, an Asia Shipping Media (ASM) product, is unique serving as the only dedicated maritime portal for the Middle East.

With local Arabic speaking staff on the ground GulfShip News is the only source to cover the whole region, and to be entirely bilingual.

Bureau chief Ronak Housaine runs the newsroom from Cairo and is ably supported by a network of reporters in key shipping hubs including Dubai, Muscat and Doha.

As well as a daily news wrap, the site contains a weekly 'In Focus' section which is a more in depth feature plus you can read for free the latest magazines from the ASM stable. On top of that readers can subscribe for a free weekly newsletter.

Already active on social media, GulfShip News has a solid following on Twitter and a strong group on LinkedIn

“While most maritime media titles still tend to fly journalists in and out of the region, our commitment was to build a network of local writers on the ground to provide an unparalleled breadth of daily reporting to this arguably under-reported yet vital area of world shipping,” commented ASM’s editorial director, Sam Chambers.

GulfShip News compliments ASM’s other regional titles, SinoShip News and SeaShip News, which cover Greater China and Southeast Asia respectively. On top of that, ASM has a global news site, launched this February, called Maritime CEO. [21/03/13]
