BMT brought onboard Samalaju port project

Kuala Lumpur: International design and risk management consultancy company BMT Group has been won a contract to help design a bulk-material handling system for the port of Samalaju in East Malaysia.

The $550m port is part of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy. First phase development of the port calls for a 2 km long pipe conveyor handling alumina, 13 conventional conveyors making up three import systems for a range of materials, three stockyards, three stackers and a control centre for the whole plant. Muhibbah Engineering is the main contractor for the development.  [26/11/14]
