BOA reflags vessel

Oslo: Norwegian offshore specialist BOA has reflagged home one of its anchor handling supply vessels, Boa Bison, from Malta.

The vessel is set for a drydocking following completion of work at the Fecamp wind farm. The company’s new AHTS Boa Jarl, due to be delivered this summer, will also sail under Norwegian flag.

A spokesperson from BOA told Splash the Boa Bison is now on the open market and looking for work after its last trip.

The Norwegian government has incentives in place for Norwegian flagged vessels. One precondition of the reimbursement scheme is for companies to have a proven trainee arrangement.

The Oslo-listed company says its main goal is to maintain Norwegian maritime competence and recruitment of Norwegian seafarers and a contribution to competitive conditions for Norwegian shipping companies in the international market.

The offshore construction specialist  has just contracted NorYards Fosen for a new light construction/IMR vessel with delivery scheduled for spring 2017.
