Shanghai: Bohai Leasing has announced that it has completed the acquisition of an 80% share in Cronos Limited, a major global container leasing company, through its subsidiary Global Sea Containers.
The acquisition is supported by a five-year loan of $480m offered by Bank of China.
“Bohai Leasing is committed to expansion through the purchase of quality companies and management teams in transportation and infrastructure finance. The acquisition of Cronos into our portfolio will be a strong addition to our existing investment in Seaco Group. With this acquisition and the amalgamation of the two companies, we will now be the largest and most diversified container leasing company in the world by many measures,” said Wang Hao, chairman of Bohai Leasing.
