Boxlines behind in Vietnam terminal payments

Hanoi: Containerlines calling in the southern Cai Mep – Thi Vai port complex are behind in their payments of increased container handling charges. The lines are awaiting to see if the Ministry of Finance will repeal price hikes at the ports, levied in July. Thus far, the lines are in arrears by about $1.2m.

The Ministry of Finance is unlikely to relent however with a spokesperson claiming port fees in Vietnam were lower than most of its neighbours.  [14/11/13]
