Braemar board shake-up

Singapore: Big changes are afoot at the board of Braemar Shipping Services. The broker, which merged with ACM Shipping last year, has tapped ex-Lloyd’s Register chairman, David Moorhouse to become its next chairman. Moorhouse has been a non-executive director at Braemar since 2005.

Sir Graham Hearne is retiring as chairman, while Braemar’s best known name, Denis Petropoulos (pictured), is one of three directors who have said they will not seek re-election as directors of the board this year.

Petropoulos will remain with the Braemar Group, as President – Braemar Asia. Johnny Plumbe and Tim Jaques have also said they will stand down from the board.

In addition, Martin Beer, Braemar’s group finance director, has informed the board that he wishes to step down as a director of Braemar this summer.
