Bronson Hsieh appointed new Yang Ming chairman

Taiwanese shipping line Yang Ming Marine Transport has elected Bronson Hsieh, former vice chairman of Evergreen Group, as the new chairman of the company.

Hsieh replaces industry veteran Frank Lu, who has served as chairman of Yang Ming since 2003. Lu has also served as chairman of CSBC and Taiwan Navigation.

Hsieh comes with over 40 years of experience in the industry. He was removed from his role of vice chairman of Evergreen in March during the succession battle between the sons of the late Evergreen chairman Chang Yung-fa.
