Jakarta: Redolent of the booming cruise scene across Southeast Asia the sultanate of Brunei has reported cruise throughput growth of 40% last year, with 45,560 foreign arrivals from 24 port calls.
Brunei Tourism anticipates an even better 2014 with around 37 port calls and 77,000 cruise arrivals.
Brunei’s Cruise Ship Centre has undergone recent minor renovations.
Brunei’s location, on the island of Borneo, finds itself as an easy call for ships touring nearby Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore or Vietnam, all of whom have been reporting double digit growth in cruise numbers for last year and predicting strong numbers in 2014 too. [23/01/14]
