Buchanan returns to Hong Kong with the Liberian Registry

Hong Kong: A well-known face in Hong Kong shipping circles has returned. Gerry Buchanan, formerly managing director of Wallem Ship Management, has been appointed the managing director of the Liberian Registry’s Hong Kong office. Buchanan had recently retired as president of Genco Shipping & Trading. Buchanan joined Genco from Wallem in 2005.

“Hong Kong is a shipmanagement stronghold, and I am looking forward to using my contacts, knowledge and experience to the advantage of the Liberian Registry and the continually growing number of shipowners whose vessels fly the Liberian flag,” the Scot said in a press release.
