Bulk carrier takes out Panamanian rail bridge

The Panama Canal Authority is investigating how a bulk carrier, the Bluebill, ploughed into a railway bridge while under tow yesterday afternoon.

The ship was in ballast on a voyage to South Korea when the accident happened.

Authorities say it will take at least two weeks to repair the rail line.

Traffic on the canal was not affected by the incident.
