Bulker goes missing near Fuzhou

Fujian Maritime Rescue Center has announced that bulk carrier Hua Xing 107 has been missing near Fuzhou for three days.

The vessel, which is owned by Fuzhou Yonghua Shipping, was carrying steel and wood from Shanghai to Fuzhou, had not been heard from since January 8, and was supposed to arrive at Fuzhou on January 9.

There were five crewmemebers onboard the vessel.

Search and rescue operation are ongoing. The search team has found a sunken vessel near Dongluo Island, Fuzhou and will send divers to confirm the identity of the vessel.
