Taipei: Taiwanese containerline Yang Ming Marine Transport’s dry bulk unit, Kuang Ming Shipping has ordered a pair of 60,000 dwt bulkers at Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding. The ships cost around $28.5m each and will be delivered in 2017.
Kuang Ming has 20 ships operating at present, 18 panamaxes and two capesizes plus four on order. Kuang Ming said it was taking advantage of low newbuild prices with this latest order. [29/04/14]
