Bulker runs aground off Fuzhou

Bulk carrier Dong Fang 09 (11,000dwt, built 2012) has run aground near Fuzhou yesterday.

The vessel is operated by Jiangsu Dongfang Huayuan Shipping, which operates domestic coastal shipping and Yangtze River shipping service.

Ministry of Transport’s Donghai Rescue Bureau has sent two vessels and rescued all 17 crew onboard.

The local maritime authority has also sent a team to stabilize the vessel and arranged barges to unload the vessel to help float it.
