Bulker sinks off Zhoushan, one missing

Bulk carrier Jia Ying 6 (960dwt) capsized yesterday after being hit by strong winds near Zhoushan.

The vessel was carrying rock from Dinghai, Zhejiang to Shanghai when it struck trouble, with five crew members managing to evacuate the ship into a lifeboat.

The five crew members were rescued by local maritime authorities who sent a patrol ship to rescue them, however one crew member remains missing.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident and the search for the missing seafarer is still ongoing.
