Christian Bonfils will join BW Group from April 1 as the new head of BW Dry Cargo, which is looking to establish itself as an owner of bulk carriers between 50,000 and 90,000 dwt.
Bonfils is the founder and CEO of Nordic Bulk Carriers and Custodia Shipping, and pioneered the use of the Northern Sea Route and Northwest Passage for commercial shipping, BW Group said.
“Christian brings with him many years of experience in the international shipping industry, and in particular dry bulk shipping. We welcome a strong leader with a keen sense of the business,” Carsten Mortensen, BW Group CEO, said in a release.
