BW Offshore offloads Opal VLCC

Singapore: BW Offshore has sold the VLCC BW Opal for $85.5m to BW Group.

The agreement also includes an option for BW Offshore to buy back the vessel until the first quarter of 2017.

BW Opal is a DSME designed and built VLCC (320,000 dwt) from 2012, the Korean yard being BW’s regular destination for tanker construction.

BW Group owns 49.75% in BW Offshore, which is the world’s second largest floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) operator with a fleet of 14 FPSOs and 1 FSO.
