Cadeler firms up East Anglia wind turbine installation deal

BW Group-backed offshore wind contractor Cadeler has inked a firm deal with ScottishPower Renewables for the transportation and installation of wind turbines at the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm in the UK.

The firm contract follows a vessel reservation agreement the Denmark-based company struck with Iberdrola’s subsidiary last July.

Under the contract, the Oslo-listed Cadeler will deploy one of its O-class vessels as well as one of the two newbuild X-class vessels, currently under construction at Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry, to install 95 wind turbines in 2026.

The wind farm is located in the southern part of the North Sea, and when completed, it will have a total capacity of 1.4 GW. Cadeler said the deal is worth just over €100m ($108.3m).
