Calisa selling MR tanker to PetroVietnam

Genoa-based shipping firm Calisa, part of the Novella Group, is close to selling one of the four tankers in its fleet.

Brokers sources report that the company, lead by Marco Novella, is offloading 2007-built MR1 Sipea for some $12.1m to a Vietnamese buyer, most likely PetroVietnam’s PV Trans. Novella declined to comment on the deal which is still subject to some conditions.

Calisa was set up in 1957 in Augusta and its core business is national transport, especially from Sicily, though its vessels make regular international voyages and more recently has been active also in the Far East market.
