Cambodia interests ICTSI

Manila: The Philippines’ top port operator has plans to expand in Southeast Asia.

ICTSI chairman and president Enrique Razon said at the company’s 2012 results: “We are looking at Europe, Latin America, Africa, Middle East and of course Asia. In Asia we are watching Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam. Among the three, Cambodia is the most promising, but the government is not decided yet to privatize…they are not made up their mind. Its beyond our control, the time table there,” Razon said, adding that ICTSI will participate in the auction of ports in Greece.

ICTSI said its net income reached $144m in 2012, higher from the previous year’s profit of $131m with the company’s terminals handling 5.62m teu, up from 5.23m teu in 2011.  [19/04/13]
