Cambridge Academy of Transport launches in Singapore

Singapore: The new lunar year will soon see the establishment of the Cambridge Academy of Transport (CAT) in the Lion City, followed by the imminent launch of several of its world-class programs in Singapore.

“The Cambridge Academy of Transport is looking to up its profile and resources in Asia,” its chairman, Manish Singh, told SeaShip News.

An announcement is soon to be made on details of courses which will involve: Anatomy of Ship Finance; Anatomy of a Container Voyage; Business of Shipping; Laytime, Demmurage and Despatch; Bills of Lading and Cargo Claims; Disputes on Charter Parties.

“Singapore has rapidly established itself as one of the world’s leading maritime centres,” commented Singh. “However, this has put enormous demands on human resources development. CAT courses are designed to respond to the educational and executive development needs of regional businesses.”

Singh also called CAT’s newly launched alumni portal (www.catzalumni.com) an "initiative in support of our commitment to lifelong learning for our alumni, and an unparralled interactive community of maritime professionals globally."

The academy’s chairman spoke in a wide-ranging interview on changing training demands in shipping to our new sister site Maritime CEO. Readers can access that article HERE. [13/02/13]
