Canfornav pays $17m for handy pair

Montreal headquartered Canfornav has been shopping for modern bulkers from its eastern friend, Parakou Shipping.

Brokers say the company has spent close to $17m for two 2010 built ships, the 30,688 dwt Haloise and and the 29,800 dwt Emilie.

The five-year-old ships come with three 30 MT cranes on each vessel, a useful addition for ships destined to ply the St Lawrence and Great Lakes.

Canfornav has chartered a number of Parakou ships over the years.

Neither company confirmed the sales when contacted by Splash.
